penis ameliyatı

Penile curvature repair is an operation to straighten the penis. It is done for this condition of the penis called Peyronie. Peyronie' s disease causes the penis to be curved, which is evident during erection.

Surgery has been shown to be the most effective treatment for penile curvature correction for Peyronie's disease. However, surgery is usually only recommended in severe cases that do not respond to nonsurgical treatment and have a curvature for more than 12 months.

Various methods can be used to suture the long side of the penis - the side without scar tissue. This causes the penis to straighten, although it is usually limited to less severe curvatures.

Another method is post-incision grafting. With this type of surgery, we make one or more incisions in the scar tissue, allowing the sheath to stretch and the penis to straighten. In some cases, we can remove some of the scar tissue.

AFTER SURGERY

Depending on the type of surgery you have, you may be able to go home from the hospital the same day or you may need to stay overnight.

You may have a urinary catheter to empty the bladder, which will be removed the next day. If you have a drain, it will be removed the next day. The dressing is changed the next day and you will be shown how to change the bandage. This should be done every day for 5 days.

It is also necessary to keep the penis dry for 2 days. You can take a shower on the second day after surgery, but you should try to keep the incision dry.

You will be given a prescription for pain relievers and antibiotics to take home, but the best pain relief is an ice pack. On the first day, you should put an ice pack on the penis intermittently. Most patients have painful erections at night. If you put an ice pack on the penis, the pain will be relieved in a few minutes.

After Peyronie's disease surgery, you should wait 4-8 weeks for sexual activity.
